What do we mean by the word - Portmanteau

Today while  reading an article , my son asked me mamma , " what do we mean by the term  '   PORTMANTEAU '  as in this article it was written :  " Janamasthami is a portmanteau of two words : Janam ( birth ) and ashtami ( eight  )    According to to the Hindu calendar the festival is celebrated in the month of Bhadrapada   (August - September ) on the eighth day ( Asthami ) of the Krishna Paksha ( dark fortnight)  .   I told him how to pronounce the word , " port - man - toe " with the stress on the second  syllable , Portmanteau is a literary device in which two or more words are joined together    to make a new word . It is a word or morpheme whose form and meaning are derived from      it blending of two or more distinct forms :     Examples of portmanteau in English :

Don't underestimate the power of words

Sigmund Freud said 👍 about words , " Words have magical power " so words are extremely powerful tools that we can use to impress others , to express ourselves and to seek help from someone at that time we communicate with someone . Everything begins with a word . Words consist of vibration and sound . Without words a thought can never become a reality .We
need words  ... but the question is which type of words we use so that others will impress and behave cordially . For that ,
we should increase our vocabulary . If
we use wrong word ( inappropriate word ) while talking to others , he / she gets confused 🤔 and sometimes he / she
doesn't want to talk . That is why , we
should increase our vocabulary whole heartedly because , ' what we learn for pleasure , never forget .'

Even whenever we face interview or appear in competitive exams , there also we have to use appropriate words , otherwise we will be the loser . Let's clarify this ( how words affect our life) :

Choose the words wisely  : The words are the paint with which we paint our reality . So , choose those words wisely and positively to create a reality that is good for us .

So keeping this in mind , I have uploaded a video ( learn new words with their meanings through this video ) .
