Last Minute Strategy for SSC CGL English Mini PYQ Mock Test



Revision is the Key to Success


The SSC exam is a competitive exam for recruiting candidates to several government
positions. It needs strategic planning for last minute revision. One day before exam you 
only do revision.

Revise Vocabulary
Formulas
Notes
Don't do mock test, take proper rest 
Don't study new topics, focus only on your notes and the mistakes done by you.
This helps you in covering crucial topics efficiently. Solve past years question papers so that you will be familiar with the exam pattern, types of questions, Practice mock test to improve your speed and at the same time check accuracy. This will help you in managing time effectively during the actual exam. Try to do one full mock daily,after mock, analyze the paper and if there is wrong answer, think twice or thrice, why is it wrong, take help from your mentor if it is needed. Remove doubt and practice the 
same type of questions because improvement comes from analysis, not attempting the number of mocks.Summare all the formulas, concepts and facts, all these should be at your fingertips so that you can recall easily during the exam.

Explanation: When we talk about the skills, proficiency or subjects, we use 
preposition "at" rather "in". On the other hand, we use" good in " colloquially.
"Good at" is a idiom to indicate skill, or proficiency in a specific subject,activity 
or hobby.

Explanation: The subject is "One" "Singular", not students "Plural". Here, "One of.... " requires singular

            SSC, CGL Preparation Strategy for Beginners


To crack the SSC, CGL in first attempt is not a hard nut
 to crack but we have to plan right strategy and work hard
 on our weak areas. Consistency and smart work will help
 us to ace the exam in first attempt.

We have to be expert in these subjects:

Mathematics: Focus on Quantitative Aptitude first. 

Then work on Advance Mathes.

English:  Upgrade vocabulary (root word). This is the 
best way to learn new words. Also read newspaper, this
 will help us to improve comprehension. Grammar rules
 (Fill in the blanks, error spotting, sentence improvement)

Reading comprehension practice

Reasoning: This will help us to score good marks.
 We have to do at least 25 questions of reasoning daily.
Practice basics: coding - decoding, analogy
 First of all, focus on accuracy, then speed 

General Awareness: Current affairs (read newspaper daily and
 make notes of last 6 to 8 months)

Previous Years Papers: Daily solve PYQs because 80% of the 
questions are based on from the last 5 years.

Set a Timetable:

Try to study at least 8 hours daily

Practice Mock Test after basic preparation
2-3 mocks per week If the answer was wrong in the Mock
 Test, try to clear your doubt. Analysis is more important
 than number of mocks.

After completing the Mocks:  Improve Speed &
 Accuracy. Know tips and tricks after concepts.
Avoid guesswork (negative marking!)

Revise: After completing all the syllabus, make short notes 

                Revise after 2 or 3 days
                Revise after 15 days
                Revise after one month

  Revision is very important, without revision nothing is possible   

Suggestion:

Don't change books again and again
Motivate yourself and avoid comparison 
Believe in yourself: I can ace the exam in first attempt

Tips for aspirants:

SSC exam is not very difficult; it is a repeat - based exam.
So, do PYQs regularly, half the exam is already done.
