Use the following tricks to learn opposite words faster for competitive exams.

Pair Method: 

This is the best method, so I suggest you learn always in pairs

For instance:

       Words    -   Antonyms 
  • Antique - Modern
  • Benefactor - Enemy
  • Reveal - Conceal
  • Rapid - Slow
  • Dormant - Active

The brain finds contextual contrast more memorable than 
standalone vocabulary.



















Story Method:

Try to create a short story and connect two opposite words.

For example:

There was a huge space to play outside, but the house was quite
 small inside.

Here, I have used two antonyms:

Outside - Inside

Daily Revision: 

  •  As we know, revision is the key to success.
  • So, learn at least 5 words (antonym pairs daily.
  • At the same time, revise 5 words (antonym pairs daily.
  • Use these 5 antonym pairs in sentence.

  • Use them in a job application appropriately and secure better marks in Examination.

Learn these Formal Phrases because while writing an application, we should not 
write Informal Phrases so always avoid using informal language (in Hindi, we can say Bol Chal ki Bhasha) 

While writing an application points to remember:

 Don't use messaging language.

  • Don't write "I am good at speaking foreign languages". (Wrong) Instead of writing this, write:
  • I possess full professional proficiency in multiple languages. (Correct)

  • Don't write "I can talk to people from other countries". (Wrong)
  • I excel at adapting my communication style to diverse cultural contexts. (Correct)

Usually, we write in an application, " I am very hard working, polite and sincere candidate. If you give me a chance, I will leave no stone unturned." (Wrong)

 In the paragraph, it is written "very hard working"- Informal language.

' Write one word for "very hard working" - diligent.

Thus, we can write this paragraph in this way:
  • I am diligent, polite and sincere candidate. If given an opportunity,
  •  I will leave no stone unturned in performing my duties effectively.
